This Privacy Policy applies to the Mensinator mobile application (the "Application"), developed and maintained by Emma and the Mensinator Open-Source Contributors ("we", "us", or "our"). Mensinator is designed with a strict privacy-first, local-only approach. We believe your health and cycle data belongs entirely to you.
1. Zero Data Collection & Local Storage
- No Account Required: You do not need to register, create an account, or provide any personal information (such as your name, email address, or age) to use the Application.
- On-Device Storage: All data you enter into the Application—including period dates, ovulation logs, symptoms, and personal notes—is stored locally on your device.
- Zero Transmission: We do not collect, transmit, store, or process any of your personal or health data on external servers. We have no access to your data.
2. Transparency, Code, and Network Access
- Open Source: Mensinator is open-source software hosted publicly on GitHub. Anyone can inspect the source code to verify our privacy and security practices.
- No Internet Required: The Application does not require an active internet connection to function and does not request network access to operate core features.
- No Analytics or Tracking: The Application contains no third-party tracking software, advertising SDKs, analytics tools, or telemetry.
- Third-Party Libraries: The Application uses open-source software libraries (such as UI and calendar components) to build the app interface. None of these libraries collect or transmit data off your device.
3. Data Control, Export, and Deletion
- Data Backup & Export: The Application allows you to manually export and import your data. Any exported files are generated and stored locally on your device or saved to a location you explicitly select. You retain complete control over these files.
- Data Deletion: Because all data is stored strictly on your local device, deleting your data is entirely under your control. You can clear or delete your information at any time by clearing the Application's storage in your device settings or by uninstalling the Application. Uninstalling Mensinator permanently removes all data stored within the app.
4. Children’s Privacy
The Application does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA/UK), because no data is ever collected or transmitted.
5. Medical & Health Information Disclaimer
The Application is intended solely for personal cycle tracking, symptom logging, and informational purposes. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment predictions.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy and committing the changes to our public GitHub repository.
